A friend linked me to this cool documentary (thanks Yong!!) which is worth a watch if you have a thing for open source hardware. I particularly liked the part with one of MakerBot‘s inventors, Zach Hoeken Smith. He admitted he knew nothing about electronics so they used several Arduino’s to create what is known as one of the most popular home 3D printers currently available, the Thing-O-Matic. It’s made me want to crack out my Arduino and complete at least one project on it by the end of the year (I’m sure you SYN Shop guys will push me to do this now I’ve said it!)
You can download or watch the documentary online by visiting the Arduino: The Documentary website.

Great documentary. Good to see how Hardware is made from scratch and developed into fast pieces of computer component.
